Directions

  • 1 Boil broccoli for about 10 minutes in a saucepan and then Drain. Set them aside. Take a hammer or any other heavy object, and ground nuts. Set them aside as well.
  • 2 Heat a saucepan and over a medium heat melt the butter. Add the half and half and chicken broth/water. Make sure the mixture is boiling. Slowly add the flour into the mix. If the mass becomes too lumpy, add more water or half and half. If it's not enough liquid, add some water. (If the sauce becomes lumpy, take a a sieve, pour the mixture through it into another saucepan. Then you can use the spoon to squeeze the mixture through the little holes in the sieve. That way the mixture will have a nice and smooth feeling.) Add the nuts and about half of the cheese.
  • 3 Place the hot brocolli onto the caserrole's bottom. Top with turkey. Pour the sauce over the turkey and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  • 4 Set the oven to 375 degrees F. Place the caserrole into the oven and let the dish cook for about 40-50 minutes. Check a couple of times. If there is too much liquid in the dish, you can use a regular spoon to remove some of the excess water.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

If you do not like turkey, you can use chicken instead. If you like your dishes with a lot of cheese, just add more cheese into the sauce.
