@pavlovgolden You can use evaporated milk. I use it alot in place of cream in recipes like this. if you were to just use skim milk I'd think you'd have to add some cornstarch to thicken the sauce up.

This sounds delicious, but what could be substituted for the whipping cream? That packs in too many calories and fat for me. I often substitute skim milk in other recipes that call for heavy whipping cream usually with no problem, but I wonder if it would work in this recipe? What about adding some non-fat plain yogurt? Anyone have suggestions?

I made this for dinner tonight and it was amazing. I couldn't help but eat 3 helpings. My 3 year old even liked it and he is a really picky eater. I would recommend this to anyone.
