This is a great cake. Without the root beer candies on top it doesn't taste much like a root beer float. Stil a great tasting cake and it was very easy to make. It ot mixed review with the kids but I really enjoyed it.

I wonder if one could substitute 1/4 cup of root beer for the water and get the flavor? I need to get more white cake mix as I used mine the other day.

I just got done making this cake because of finding the recipe on here. I made it without the rootbeer candies as I didn't want to have hard candies inside. It tasted wonderful yet it didn't taste anything like rootbeer floats...The frosting was delicious! Very yummy!
