Creamy bacon smashed potatoes

pounds Red potatoes
2/3
cup milk
6
ounces cream cheese
3
ounces bacon pieces
  1. Clean potatoes under running water and cut out any dark spots/eyes
  2. Place potatoes in a large pot and fill with water until it covers the potatoes
  3. Place pot on stove set on high until boiling rapidly then put on medium-high heat
  4. Let potatoes boil for about 30 minutes or until a fork can be easily inserted
  5. Cook bacon in a skillet until crisp
  6. Place bacon on paper towels and crumble and set aside
  7. Drain potatoes
  8. Smash potatoes with back of fork or potato ricer
  9. Add milk to potatoes and stir until smooth
  10. Add cream cheese and stir well
  11. Fold in bacon pieces
