I have made this recipe in the past but added 1 cup of Swiss cheese to the mixture (not on top). It is fantastic that way. I made the same recipe for a side dish last night and added one large can of creamed corn (by mistake). I realized I should have used 2 small (8 oz.) cans (one of creamed and one of corn only). My husband and I couldn't tell the difference. It came out really good. I think the swiss cheese makes the taste richer.

My family has done a version of this for years. The only difference between ours and B.C.'s is that we don't put eggs in ours. Still very yummy.

While staying at the Ronald McDonald House when my granbabies were at duPont Childrens Hospital one of the meals included a corn casserole, I had never had it before so I was interested. It was amazingly YUMMY! I'm excited this recipe was posted and I'm making it tonight for my family. BTW - even if your not a creamed corn fan you'll love it, its not like eating creamed corn, the creamed corn gives this recipe the smoothness it needs for the correct texture. And there is never enough butter EVER!
