The perfect side dish for any holiday meal. It is great with turkey, stuffing, plain, or on leftover turkey sandwiches. The flavor the orange juice and zest adds to the tart cranberries.

Ingredients

1: cup granulated sugar

1/4: cup fresh squeezed orange juice

1/2: cup water

12: ounces cranberries, fresh or frozen

1: pinch cinnamon, ground

2: tablespoons orange zest

1/2: cup orange segments

Directions

1 Rinse cranberries with cold water. In a medium saucepan, add sugar, orange juice, and water. Stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil.
2 Bring to a boil and add cranberries, cinnamon, and orange zest. Return to a boil and then reduce heat to medium low. Cook until cranberries start to burst, about ten minutes.
3 Remove from heat and add orange segments.
4 Let cool to room temperature. Pour sauce into a serving bowl and chill in the refrigerator. Serve chilled.

I have never made fresh cranberries before; however, after this recipe, I will never go back to canned. It was extremely easy to make and tasted so good. It was a hit at my Thanksgiving table. Delicious!
