I made this and followed the directions exactly... it turned out NOTHING like the picture. Very liquidy and not cake like at all, it almost seems like the wrong picture was posted with this recipe. Pretty dissapointed about how it turned out.

I made this and used Granny Smith apples which was delicious but mine didn't turn out cake like as pictured and it was way too sweet-ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I made this last night for my family. Everyone had seconds! Very easy to make, tho I did have to tweak the recipe a bit. I did not have tart red apples so, I used green apples, cut the brown sugar back to 1 1/2 C. Also, I added cinnamon to apples when I mixed them. I also added extra cinnamon to topping. My son said he would have liked it more if I made more of the topping. So that will be how I make it next time.
