EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Cut cookies with a cutter dipped into flour or powdered sugar as close together as possible on rolled dough to avoid re-rolling (re-rolled dough will be a little tougher).

My grandkids, ages 4 and 5 made a version of these cookies - the kids loved them. They could easily mix the dough (I had softened the butter in the microwave) They had dumped about a cup of sprinkles into the dough before I caught it but the dough accomodated the extra sprinkles easily. Instead of rolling the dough, we just dropped it with a spring-loaded scoop (both kids did this too) and then we smashed the cookies down and added even more sprinkles. The kids loved them and were quite proud of their very colorful cookies.
