Made these last night. They were awesome! Only 1 change I would do. I prefer a cream cheese icing vrs this one, Other than that . Great!

I've been making these for over 40 years! They are great, and my children who are new grown still love eating them. I usually get about 12 out of the recipe.

I changed the currants to raisins and the walnuts to pecans. It was even better for my tastes. Awesome, quick yet special enough for company or special enough to make my family feel like company.

i improvised a bit and used brown sugar and craisins without nuts and of course not the exact measurements of sugar and cinnamon. my family loved them~

Well, I tried this and was not impressed (neither was my 17 y/o son; and teenagers aren't usually hard to please). Even though I used extra sugar and cinnamon the flavor just wasn't there. They really were more like pancakes in a different shape. That was my first thought is how much they tasted just like a pancake . . . which is fine I suppose but I was expecting more of a transformation. Perhaps trying it as a savory type with cheese or bacon, etc. would work better. I'll do that before I give up on the recipe completely.

These were delicious but we felt like the dough itself needed some cinnamon and sugar.

Made this quickly a couple mornings ago- didn't have any milk in the house so used low fat sour cream and worked VERY well. Big hit with kids and hubby. Going to make again with correct milk (now that we've been to the store!). Delicious even without glaze. Used Splenda for sugar, HeartSmart Bisquick and didn't use currants as half family doesn't care for them.

As written, delicious! I prefer to use 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips instead of currants, though. Other pinwheel combinations are: diced ham, cooked broccoli, & cheddar; Pizza sauce, pepperoni, & mozzarella; chopped macadamia nuts & white chocolate chips; apple, blueberry, or other canned fruit filling.... the list is endlessly delicious!!

A staple in our house too for a quick munchie. Another take is forget the sugar entirely sprinkle the butter with garlic powder and fresh basil parmesan cheese and mozzarella for a great accompaniment to pasta, or an appetizer with red wine. bon appetite.
