Try our easy way to “fry” your ice cream. A quick finish under the broiler makes it authentic.

Delicious idea, but the broiling seemed a bit unnecessary. I've just started adding crushed up cereal to the top of my ice cream in a bowl for the same effect with much less effort. Yummy!

Thanks for the idea of the toasted coconut! I added that to the crushed cereal and it scored big time in my house! And it wasn't soggy! Buckwheat honey works good drizzled over top, as well as chocolate! Another awesome recipe that you can change a thousand ways!!

This was as good as the fried ice cream we get at our favorite Mexican restaurant. We added chocolate syrup, and next time I might use hot fudge instead. No matter what, it was delicious. We were at our frequently visited Mexican restaurant today when the two women at the next table were discussing how awesome their fried ice cream was and wondering how they could make it themselves. It was so nice to be able to tell them and to have made it myself to know just how good it was.

Authentic Fried Ice cream should be coated in toasted coconut and cinnamon, sometimes honey. NOT cereal. It gets soggy.

This recipe is awesome! We used to make it with corn flakes and sprinkle with cinnamon / sugar before broiling. Also, we would drizzle it with honey and top it with whipped cream before serving. Yummy!

Just wanted to say thanks for publishing this particular recipe. I have hunted for one of the same similiarity and have not found it until now. I remembering making this in my home-ec class in high school and enjoying the whole process of having and actually making "fried ice -cream". Loseing the recipe was one of my sad regrets and the teacher that taught me I had lost contact with over the yrs. I must also say though the cinnamon part of it is a new twist to me we always made ours with corn-flakes. Thanks again...Keep Up The Good Work!

This recipe is really easy to make and sooooooooo yummy. My 3 kids love it... and so does everyone else. It was a great hit at my 21st birthday and I love even more every time I taste it. Too bad my relatives in Australia don''t have Cinnamon toast Crunch (hint, hint)
