Hot Cinnamon Cider Floats Make cider as directed--except omit oranges with cloves. Place a scoop of cinnamon or vanilla ice cream in large serving mugs; add hot cider and garnish with additional cinnamon sticks if desired.
• Pull out the slow cooker to help you with the holidays. When serving hot cider at a holiday buffet, pour heated cider into slow cooker set on Low, and let guests help themselves.
• If you prefer to keep the hot cider in the kitchen, keep the cider in an attractive saucepan right on the stove over low heat. Invite guests into the kitchen to ladle it into their own mugs.
• You can make a glass punch bowl safer for hot beverages by tempering it first. Start by filling it with hot water; let stand 30 minutes. Pour out water, and slowly add hot punch.
