  1. Heat oven to 350┬░ F. Grease bottom and sides of 9x5 inch loaf pan with shortening; lightly flour.
  2. In large bowl, beat sugar, butter and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 1 minute, scraping bowl occasionally. Add remaining ingredients; beat 2 minutes on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan.
  3. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely, about 2 hours.
