Come and get it! Hot off the griddle and bursting with cinnamon flavor, here's a foolproof way to get great French toast.

Made the first run as shown in recipe, the batter is really really thick. Added about a half cup more milk to the rest of the batter and it was perfect!!! Both versions tasted great, but the first was just a bit too thick, more like pancakes & bread sandwich!!! YUM!!!

use half the bisquick and an extra egg for a very thick french toast and it won't be too much like pancakes...we liked it

it was horrible- very dry without syrup, but too sweet for my tastes with the syrup. i had to load it up with butter and powdered sugar to actually be able to taste anything. however, with the ridiculous amount of butter, it was ok. if i make it again, i'm not using bisquick.

I wished I had looked through all the reviews before I made this. I didn't realize how much they would turn out like pancakes. They looked more like pancakes with bread in the middle to me. I actually threw them out and went with a basic french toast recipe with the remaining bread. This was definitely not a keeper.

It's been ages since I've had homemade French toast, so I thought on this Good Friday I would try to find a simple recipe. This is definitely it, and it was quite good, although I cut it down to 2-1/2 servings (2-1/2 slices of bread). I also was sorry to not be able to find a "healthified" recipe, so I made some minor adjustments and added a few ingredients. I used heart healthy Bisquick, fat free milk and egg substitute; in addition to cinnamon, I added a small amount of allspice, nutmeg, ground cardamon, and mace to the Bisquick; and of course I used true vanilla extract. I don't own a griddle, so I used non-stick cooking spray in my cast-iron skillet. Two minutes on medium-high heat gave me a nice golden coating, and then I used sugar free syrup. I just finished eating it and I'm very satisfied and would try my reworked version again.

the family loved it, comes out like pancakes use a shallow pan so batter isnt to thick on breed and you can have a great breakfast where your kids will ask you for more.
