Sounds sophisticated, but in this free form, it's simply the easiest apple “pie” you'll ever make!

This is my new favorite dessert. So easy to make, looks great and tastes even better. I have to say I agree the reviewer who said to use parchment paper. It really made clean up easy. I also sprinkled vanilla on the crust. Yummy!

This recipe is great to make TWO delicious crostatas :) Every refrigerated pie crust box I've found contains two pie crusts, anyway. Both of them fit on one medium-sized cookie sheet well. Be careful not to poke a hole in the pie crust at any point, because I had some liquid leak out onto the cookie sheet. That didn't affect the deliciousness, though! I baked the crostatas without nuts, and it was still a tasty treat... so to anyone allergic or not fond of nuts, bake it anyway!

I love this! I can't believe how easy it is and sooooo good. who needs to spend time making a traditional apple pie. for a lot of people just make two. The best part is the crushed pecans on top, the more the better!!

This was delicious, however, I didn't need all four apples. I could have done with 2-3. AND make sure you really get the edges of the crust to stay folded around the apples. I guess I didn't get them folded well enough and one side fell down. The juices ran all over the pan. I transferred it to another pan and finished baking it. It didn't look great, but tasted great!

I made it today, I think my apples where way to big, becuse I had to use two pie crust, it was great, the first one dissapeared right away, I served with vanilla ice cream, and I think more nuts will be better, as the crostata was AWESOME!!

This was so easy and impressive! I made several small changes- first, I baked this on parchment paper on the cookie sheet. It would have been a very messy clean-up otherwise. I didn''t add the nuts because I am not a nut fan. I baked this before having dinner guests over. Removed it from the oven before putting the dinner in the oven. When dinner was cooked- I turned off the oven. I put the crostata back in the warm oven (still turned off) while we ate. When it was time for dessert- I pulled out the warm crostata and served it with fresh whipped cream. There were no leftovers and rave reviews. So easy- definitely a recipe that will be used over and over again.
