Sugar cones add crunchy texture so they should not be finely crushed. To keep them coarse, crush by hand into about 1/2- to 1-inch pieces.
Because these cookies are loaded with extra goodies, after flattening tops, you may need to gently press dough together to keep them from separating during baking.
