Make a cake that's easy to take and share. Pockets of creamy pudding and melt-in-your-mouth peppermint candies are the memories you'll make.

Will not make again - pudding mix just sat on top of cake. Had to melt icing in mw and then poor on cake. Spreading icing would never have worked on top of pudding. What a waste of $. For a high rating, must give results instead of disappointment.

I found it difficult to spread the pudding and get it into the holes. I wonder if we poured the pudding as soon as it is mixed and not let it set up if it would work better. I will try that next time. I didn't like that the pudding and frosting mixed together. The cake was not pretty but it was moist and very tasty. I eliminated the candy on the top and felt it was minty enough. I had to use sugar free white chocolate pudding also since I couldn't find the regular. I would make it again and might even try different variations of extract, pudding and cake flavors.

This was OK. My pudding didn't run down into the "pokes," it just sat on top of the cake.

Is white chocolate actually "white", because in the picture it shows a chocolate colored pudding in the poke. I like using the chocolate pudding. Also, for those having a hard time "crushing" the candies, I think they are using hard peppermint candies and not peppermint patties, which are very easy to cut into bits. Andes mint bits are also very good. At Christmas they come in red and white.

This is a very good cake. A lady I work with made it for a luncheon and everyone asked for the recipe. I made it for Christmas dinner. Everyone loved it! I did, however, find it extremely difficult to spread the frosting over the pudding. (Maybe I needed to poke more holes for the pudding to soak into.) The frosting and pudding got a bit mixed and the cake was not "pretty", but it sure tasted great and was a hit.
