I omitted the nuts. My first batch using a small cookie scoop spread out and made way too big a cookie, and I had to cook them longer. I tried the recipe again, this time using just 1 TBL of water. The dough was a better consistency and I used a scant TBL of dough and rolled it into a ball, then slightly pressed the ball down, and baked for the time listed. This produced a cookie that looked more like the picture. I used parchment paper and let the cookies set on the sheet at least 2 min. before transferring to a rack.
With the addition of the chocolate frosting, these are seriously sweet chocolate cookies.
