These are a family favorite. I add semi- sweet chocolate chips and that makes a big difference. I agree with the other reviews and can see how the batter be too sticky.

It turned out to be too much like brownie or cake mix, even when I added more flour to it. They taste good but the batter is too gooey.

Interesting. Mine didn't turn out as pretty as the picture. So I put a white chocolate chip in the center of every cookie. Maybe it's just me, but I don't seem to be very good with icing on cookies. Anyhow it was an interesting recipe to bake. Cookie turned out a little dry and the frosting was interesting. I don't plan on making this again. There are better cookie recipes to try.

These are my favorite cookies, and they are always a huge hit. Instead of using the chocolate frosting I use the Mocha Frosting recipe instead. Sooo yummy!

These cookies are a family favorite. We've been making these since i was a little girl. I remember my mom getting out the big orange Betty Crocker cookbook and you could turn right to the page this recipe was on because it was coated in flour and dough. I always substitute cocoa powder for the chocolate. Its easier and less time consuming. I've also found that using vegetable shortening makes the fluffiest cake-like cookies.

A friend made these and I thought they were divine. I understand they turn out better in a convection oven, but I am definately going to make these. Thanks for the recipe and website.

These were not great. The cookies were dry (and I baked less than time called for) and the frosting was just ok - would not make again.

These cookies were sooo good. I didn't have buttermilk, so I used regular milk, but they still turned out great. I was nervous I would mess up the frosting, but it was easy. I love this recipe. As a chocoholic, this gets a 5!

This cookies are very tasty, a little time consuming for plain chocolate cookies, but the homemade icing is great. Made these for a bake sale, they sold in a flash. I recommend this recipe!
