this is a great recipe! I use 1/2 cup of butterscotch and 11/2 chocolate with a lot of success

Loved this recipe! I was short on butter, so I made it with 1/4 C butter and 3/4 C applesauce. Had to add a little extra flour until the consistency was right, but the cookies came out beautifully.

A friend from church made these at a get together she hosted. She said she'd been kind of rushed for time and had had only 30 minutes to prepare snacks and found this recipe online. Us girls loved it and she told us this is where she'd gotten it. I'm having a game night with some of my friends tomorrow and am going to be trying this one. Cross your fingers, hope its as good as it was last time I had em!

These were very good cookies. They are very quick and easy to make. Make sure you don't burn them...take them out before they look quite done. If you leave them in til they are completely golden brown, the bottoms will burn. (I like them a little extra gooey, too. =)) I did make a couple changes: I did not use nuts, and instead of dropping by rounded teaspoons, it is easier and makes more circular cookies if you roll the dough into a ball and then sqush it down a little. I will definitely make these again!

Hello, I like to set all my ingredients out in little bowls before I get started with the mixing stage, then I will mix the stuff in the order stated in the recipe(with a spoon), but I will wash each bowl in between and take my time, it’s about the process for me. I like them a little thicker and consequently softer/gooey”er”, in the middle. I take them out of the oven when I can see the bottom edges turning brown, the difference in color can be seen in the extremes of a store bought walnut, they start out about the color of the inside of a walnut and when the edges turn the same color as the outside skin of a walnut I take them out. Then I set then on the counter with a towel over them to keep the heat in for about five more minutes. Yummy… (P.S. Not black walnuts by the way, which are better but the outside is darker than normal walnuts, they would certainly be overdone if you use the black walnut as a standard. Thanks Lee

I made these, but they were hard and didnt expand. I looked in my mom's old Betty Crocker book and I noticed that it had listed shortening as an ingrediant. I think this was left out in this recipe.

I have been making these since i was a little girl but the recipe in the book that my mother had called for shortening and butter or margarine. Now it is just margarine or butter. Weird...
