Great Recipe!! This is the only banana bread recipe I could find that didn't need buttermilk (I don't have any and didn't want to go to the store!) and it is wonderful! My aunt always made it with cherries and chocolate chips and this makes me feel like a kid again! Super easy to follow and comes out moist and full of flavor! I tripled the batch to bring it home for Christmas and it worked great! I also only used red cherries b/c of the whole fruit cake thing!! Enjoy!

I made this today and couldn't wait for it to cool to taste. And I wasn't disappointed. This is a real dessert banana bread. The sweet bits of cherry compliment the bits of chocolate which of course all compliment the banana flavor. The nuts added a nice texture. I followed the recipe and made no changes except I only used red cherries. I baked it in two pans for 40 minutes and it turned out nicely shaped. This bread should taste even better by tomorrow after its had time to cool down and the flavors meld together. I'll be making this again.
