Ingredients

cup packed brown sugar
1/2
cup granulated sugar
1/2
cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2
cup shortening
1 1/2
teaspoons vanilla
1
egg
1 3/4
cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1
teaspoon baking soda
1/2
teaspoon salt
1
cup candy-coated chocolate candies or semisweet chocolate chips
1/2
cup chopped nuts, if desired

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter and shortening with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in vanilla and egg until well blended.
  • 2 On low speed, beat in flour, baking soda and salt until dough forms. With spoon, stir in chocolate candies and nuts. Spread dough in ungreased 13x9-inch pan.
  • 3 Bake 15 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Cut into 6 rows by 6 rows.

I make a motion that Abby gets a guneia pig.....DO I HEAR A SECOND ON THAT????? Daddy, i believe you are a softy and it will be hard to say no (hope i'm right.) We are all pulling for you Abby !!!!We are praying all the time for you, soon you will be home with SpideyLandis (and maybe a litle guneia pig)

I just used regular chocolate chips since I didn't have any candies. I thought they turned out delicious! My husband loved them too. I will be saving this recipe!

i made them with easter m&ms..followed the recipe and they turned out disgusting and tooo much sugar... the brown, white and M&Ms are to much sweetness...didnt work good
