EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

If they need a little “touch up” after storage, you can re-roll the bourbon balls in powdered sugar just before serving.

Powdered sugar a little lumpy? Just put the measured amount you need into a metal kitchen strainer with a glass bowl underneath. Sift the powdered sugar through the strainer using a large kitchen spoon to work out the bumps.

These treats are just as scrumptious when almonds, pecans or hazelnuts are used instead of the walnuts.

This was a horrible receipt. I followed the directions just as written here, but the mixture was so dry that it would not hold into balls at all.

These are always a hit at my Derby Party. Problem is making them ahead of time and keeping my husband and son away from them, so we have some for Derby day. I have given away this recipe many times. Easy and delicious. Satisfies the chocolate craving for me.
