There are dairy free, gluten free, sugar free recipies, (you add the substitions you want or don't want by the ingredients you add to any recipie). Get stocked up on some cookbooks, there are many out there with all 3 DF, GF, SF restricted diets. For the choc chips I use enjoy life foods which are dairy free, gluten free, nut free, and many other free's. Check their website for all their allergy friendly products and recipies. Don't give up! You just have to be more proactive in your search for eating with allergies, I have many myself. Good luck!

I just want to make a suggestion, if you don't mind. Since this recipe is included in the Gluten Free selections as well, would you be open to the idea of putting a stronger reminder next to the wording about adding pretzels as a variation? I know that there's a caveat in the next paragraph, but some folks new to the GF lifestyle might not make the connection, and could add pretzels [which are not gf] because it looks as if they're part of a GF recipe--not a generic recipe that meets the GF standard in only its original form. Maybe I'm a nitpicker, but I'm also a writer who has to often edit content for the average reader, and this small detail flagged immediately as possibly implying that pretzels are safe. Thanks!

This isn't a review, but am wondering if possible to substitute shredded wheat for CHEX?

I like to use Wilton candy melts instead of choc. chips. I use the dark cocoa and the white melts and my family loves it that way.

I made this for our adult Halloween party. And it was great. Big hit with everyone. Now I will make it for the kids. Great with or without the chocolate.

I am a mother of 7 babies all under 10 and there is no other snack that everyone in the family enjoys more than this. Everyone loves how quick it is for me to make. I often leave out the chocolate to save time, and it still is super delicious. We moved once and I lost my recipe and had to call Chex to get it over the phone because the kids were upset I forgot how to make it!!!! Thank God for the internet because I lost it again!!!! Thank you for making such an easy and delicious recipe because I have no time for anything else!!!!!

This was really great! My kids loved this as an after-school snack, and I am now planning to make several large batches of this to give as holiday treats this year. We used some broken up pretzel sticks which really helped to break up some of the sweetness. Also, I used white choclate chips and instead of melting them and drizzling them on top, I just sprinkled them on top of the cooling mixture(I will probably use holiday m&m''s for the treats). Yummy!
