Ingredients

9: cups Corn Chex®, Rice Chex®, Wheat Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)

1: cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2: cup peanut butter

1/4: cup butter or margarine

1: teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2: cups powdered sugar

Directions

1 Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2 In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3 Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

This has been a family favorite for as long as ic an remember and its funny because i learned of it in Girl Scouts when i was little as a matter of fact it was the very first thing i learned how to make! We called it Puppy Chow!! I have heard it called many things and the bet name by far has been from my 9 year old daughter Jenni-Sue she has been making it with me since she learned how to talk and her name for it has gone from nom, nom, nom mommy to simply Delisioso lol!! Thank you so much for making this connection with so many great people nd food ideas!!

Truly a quick recipe. Just made these with my mom. She'd never had them before. We enjoyed a few with a cup of milk before packing them away. A Christmas Eve surprise for my kiddos. Next time I plan to try them with milk chocolate, butterscotch chips or even heath bits. Tip: These would be the perfect confection to make when your child comes home and needs to bring treats for a bake sale!

Family tradition...until recently I didn't know it was called Muddy Buddies. I've been making this since the 60's when I was a Brownie in the Girl Scouts...we called it "Puppy Chow". My daughter got into a disagreement with a friend over he name,that's how we found out the other name.
