Here’s a rich and delicious chocolate-covered cherry in cake form. Betty Crocker® cake mix and frosting make things easy.

I made this as a triple layer round cake with chunks of cherries and chocolate chips in between the layers on chocolate frosting then finished the cake in vanilla frosting that I had added extra cherry juice to. Garnished with patterns of cherries and chocolate chips this is my new favorite cake!!!

do you suppose you could use the cherry chip cake mix and omit the real cherries?

I made this for a work potluck, but I decided to make them into cupcakes. Fabulous idea! I also was not able to get cherry frosting and put some of the juice from the cherries in to make it pink. I also garnished each one with a cherry and the mini chips. The only downside I had was that I did not towel dry the cherries before I garnished with them, so they slid and made the frosting runny, but still tasted so awesome. I love Betty Crocker!

I just made this cake today for my son's 17 birthday. Chocolate covered cherries are his favorite treat. He raved about the cake. He especially loved the hint of almond extract. This is such an easy twist to a boxed cake mix. Makes something good into something very special. I could not find cherry frosting, so I just added the left over cherry juice to the white frosting and it turned out great.

I made this recipe with Devil's Food Cake and it was fantastic!! I used the mini-morsels for texture and added the cherry juice to a homemade buttercream frosting. The whole family raved about how good it was.

This cake is very easy to make and a real crowd pleaser! I made it to take to dinner with some of my girlfriends and they all raved about it. It reminds me of Cherry Cordial ice cream, so if you're a fan of that you'll like this cake. Also, if you have trouble finding the cherry icing, simply reserve the juice from the cherries nd mix it with some white frosting.
