I was pleased to find this recipe as it is one that my Mom used to make years ago but the recipe had been lost. There were two differences that you may want to consider though. Instead of Wheaties and raisins, we used just plain Corn Flakes and chopped dates. They were excellent!

These cookies were a big hit on my cookie platter. They really complimented the other cookies on the tray. Alot of people thought they had coconut in them and were very surprised to know it was Wheaties. I will continue to make these during the holidays and other special occasions. One way to avoid the rolling mess is to use two teaspoons and use a latex or cooking glove (disposable of course) to keep things a little less messy.

Rolling them is a bit messy, yes, but if you get a rhythm going it''s not that bad. Quite tasty! Used egg substitute and Splenda, and they still turned out delicious.

These were the least popular at our annual open house where we serve about 1000 cookies which include at least 10 varieties. I didn''t care for them, so will not make them again. Rolling them in the cereal was a little messy.
