Go easy on yourself with this quick one-dish meal, topped in potato nuggets. With chicken, cheese and veggies, too, it’s both delicious and well-rounded.

I modified this just a tad by steaming the veggies with 2 spoonsful of Cheese Whiz - not too much but just enough. I used shredded Colby Jack on top and the kids (even the picky, skinny one) went back for seconds. This even reheated in the oven well two nights later.

I did the following modification and my Family LOVED IT! Boil chicken with 2 Tablespoons of poultry seasoning, shred. Use frozen veggies (forget the cheese sauce), add to prepared Velveeta Cheese Shells, mix in chicken and a white sauce that is seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and a dash of chili powder. Top with POTATO TOT ROUNDS, instead of regular tots. Bake for recommended time in the above recipe. White sauce: put 4 Tbsp of flour, salt, pepper, and chili powder, and minced garlic two cloves) in a sauce pan and slowly add 1/2 - 1 cup of 2% milk over a low heat. (Remember basic rules of a rue, constant stirring, adding cold milk SLOWLY.) Once milk is added mix in 1/2 cup of shredded cheese. Stir till thick and cheese is melted.

I really wanted to love this...but it was bland, the textures were all the same (soft), even the color of the dish was monochromatic. I will not be making again - even modifications could not help this one.

With a few adaptations, this meal was a HUGE hit with the family! First, I prepared chicken breast strips with a light coat of olive oil, sea salt and cracked pepper, then baked at 475 degrees for 15 minutes. While chicken was baking I chopped fresh broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, placed them in a microwave-safe dish, added 1/2 cup chicken broth, covered and microwaved for 4 minutes. Next, I cubed the cooked chicken and added it to the veggies. I stirred in 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, added a bit more chicken broth, topped with frozen tater tots, and baked, uncovered, as directed. Lastly, I added the top layer of shredded cheddar cheese, baked 5 more minutes and served. Very moist and flavorful!!!!

Used to make a "Tater Tot Casserole" by mixing browned ground beef with cream of mushroom soup Ina 9" x 13" pan covering it with shredded cheddar & then tater tots before baking. My husband is not a veggie eater (he's like a kid lol). Can you tell that recipe came out before we were all trying to cook healthier? ;-)

made the recipe as it said to (besides the fact that I wasn't thinking & instead I cooked the veggies the 15 minutes not thinking) but it turned out amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a hit with my husband & both our boys. They all told me how much they loved it. Great recipe. Will make it again for sure.

I made this and everyone loved it. My husband still talks about it and has been begging me to make it again. It was so easy, too. I still have everything on hand so it's inexpensive.

This was pretty good. The only thing I would change is using the veggies with the cheese sauce. Next time I make it I will do it without the cheese-sauced veggies and just use plain steamed veggies.

I used a "lightly sauced" variety of frozen vegetable and canned chicken (3 cans of no salt added and 1 can of normal chicken). I also topped it with fat free cheddar cheese for lower calorie count per serving. I got it down to 329 calories for 5 servings so you can more food for for less!
