This hearty chowder makes a great lunch or dinner. Serve with a green salad and slices of whole grain bread to complete the meal.

I've made this several times and all nine of us love it. I skip cooking the potatoes in water and cook them in the broth. I've made it different each time. I've added things (chicken, ham, onion, garlic, different veggies) and taken thing out (It's even good without the cheese) and every time it has been good.

This soup is excellent! However, the potatoes do not need to be cooked in water and drained. Cook them in the broth and save yourself a step. It gives the potatoes more flavor. There are so many things you can add to this recipe to suit your taste, but the base recipe is great.

This was a great recipe. I sauteed diced onion in a little butter and added it to the drained potatoes. I also added a some chopped, cooked bacon when I stirred in the sour cream.

Made this for dinner last night and added about a cup of leftover ham in 1/2 inch cubes. Served with rolls and it was a big hit! Hubby ate 2 bowls and even picky daughter ate a big bowl and declared it "yummy". Will definitely us again.

Very good meal. I added garlic after giving it a taste and finding it a little bland. I decided next time that I make it, I'm going to add regular onions as well as the green onions. Still very good and cheap to make.

This was a great simple dish! Since I read the reviews ahead of time, I added a little garlic powder to help with taste so it wasn't so bland. That made it that much better! Both my husband and I liked it so much that we both brought it for work the next day!

Good soup, but we found it a little bland...I grated a small onion into the broccoli broth mixture and added some crushed red pepper at the end...a "5" spoon recipe with those additions....
