can (18 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy portabella mushroom cooking sauce

oz prepared cheese product (from 16-oz loaf), cut into cubes
8
hamburger buns, split

Garnishes, If Desired

Dill pickle slices
Ketchup and mustard

  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain.
  • 2 Stir in cooking sauce and cheese. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  • 3 Spoon onto bottom half of each bun; top with pickles, ketchup and mustard. Place top of bun on each.

This was a meal my parents made quite frequently when I was growing up and I now make for my family on a regular basis! We always put a can of sliced black olives in and instead of the "processed cheese" we use 4 oz of sour cream. Then we spread it over a long loaf of italian bread, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese shreds & bake till bubbly & light browned! Slice & devour!! It's quick, easy, cheesy goodness!
