I make this same recipe but instead of cheddar, I use parmesan cheese and instead of bell peppers, I add bacon. I also use original onions. I *hate* original green bean casserole, but my husband loves it. My version is an alternative we will both eat.

My kids HATE mushrooms. If they see a mushroom they will absolutely not eat the dish.Whenever a recipe calls for cream of mushroom soup I ALWAYS substitute for another cream soup. This time I used cream of chicken. The recipe was delicious and my kids ate it up.

To be honest first: I totally changed this recipe but it was delicious. Same concept but I didnt want Thanksgiving so I used frozen broccoli instead of green beans and I used cheddar broccoli soup (cream of broc would be good too), a little poached chicken thighs, sprinkled in a little cheese and Frenches Fried Cheddar Onions and mixed well. I baked for about 40 - 45 minutes in total because I put the broccoli in frozen. It was delicious. I sprinkled on the rest of the fried cheddar onions and baked 5 more mins. Love it!

I usually hate green bean casserole because I'm not a big mushroom fan... But this cheesy grean bean casserole eliminated the taste of the mushroom soup, and with the cheese in there just made the entire thing amazing. Not one leftover green bean at the end of our meal! Will definitely be a staple in my holiday menu from now on!

Delicious and incredibly easy!! However, I was encouraged to use a 14 oz. can of green beans (drained) in place of frozen. I was pleased with the outcome, but I think I'll try the frozen green beans next time and compare the two.

My Daughter came home and said she forgot to tell me that she had to bring a green bean casserole for a potluck at work THE NEXT DAY! I have never made a green bean casserole and found this recipe. Needless to say I was quite nervous about making a dish for a group of people that I have never tried myself. The results came back and everyone loved it! She even had two requests for the recipe. My daughter wants me to make it on Thanksgiving. The only thing I did differently was to add some cooked bacon (cubed). Thank you for the recipe.

I made this for Thanksgiving and the family is asking me to make it again for Christmas. The cheese part the kids like and I did add a small chopped onion because the adults like it. Great recipe!
