I've made this recipe several times. It's certainly a favorite of my family! I like the slightly tangy flavor. One strange thing happened the last time I made it but I couldn't figure out what went wrong. The mac and cheese was very bitter and left an awful taste. We were unable to eat it, but usually this recipe works well for me. If anyone knows why this might have happened, I'd appreciate it for future reference.

Good recipe but it needed some tweaking to make it perfect. I added parmesan cheese to the cheddar cheese (about half a cup shredded) and before I put it in to bake I put a sprinkle of nutmeg over the whole dish. Just before I served each plate I added a sprinkle more pepper and nutmeg. It was a huge hit!

My family didn't really go for this one, I'm not sure if it was the worchestershire that gave it the strange taste but next time I will be using less than the 1/4 ts or leaving it out all together if I make it again.

This is my go-to M&C recipe! It's the version I grew up with (in my mom's BC edition from 1976). I make this version instead of the one that's in my BC edition. Very cheesy and rich, so beware. Over the years, I've added all kinds of friends to the party: bacon, spinach, mushrooms, ham. My husband loves it and my standard procedure is to double the recipe.

I'm sorry to say this mac and cheese wasnt cheesy enough for me. My family said it was "o.k." It was more creamy than cheesy. Just not my favorite. Dont think I will make it again.

My idea of Mac & Chex has always been "Kraft", my shame became obvious when my family showered friends and acquaintances with praise for theirs; finally I decided to grow up and make some; this recipe gets 5 stars from a beginner, it was easy and tasted 1st class; the most important moment was when my adult children, who have always suffered through my past dishes of "Kraft" exclamined with joy that I had finally LEARNED how to make Macaroni and Cheese. Thank you, Thank you for helping me save face with not only my family but myself....
