Cheddar, Beer and Pumpkin Fondue

Bloggers Adam and Joanne Gallagher from Inspired Taste make a cheesy fondue flavored with beer and pumpkin puree.

Ingredients

cup dark beer

cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)

rounded tablespoon Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour

cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)

tablespoon coarse-grained mustard
1
teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2
teaspoon salt

or 4 dashes hot sauce

cups soft bread cubes
  • 1 In 2-quart saucepan, heat beer over medium heat.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in medium bowl, toss cheese and flour.
  • 3 Once beer begins to simmer, add cheese mixture, 1/4 cup at a time and whisking after each addition, until cheese is melted. Add pumpkin, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt and hot sauce. Stir with whisk until smooth.
  • 4 Serve fondue with bread cubes.

Expert Tips

Serve fondue with sliced apples and pretzels as well as bread cubes.

Try varying the type of cheese. Pepper Jack cheese would add a nice spice to the fondue.
