Cheddar Apple Sausage Balls

Bake sausage, cheese, baking mix and apple together to make this delicious appetizer – a perfect dish to serve a crowd.

lb bulk pork sausage with sage

cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (10 oz)

cups original all-purpose baking mix

Braeburn apple, peeled, shredded (2 cups)
Paprika, if desired

  • 1 Heat oven to 400°F. Line cookie sheets with cooking parchment paper.
  • 2 In large bowl, mix sausage, cheese, baking mix and apple with hands until well blended. Shape mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls; place 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.
  • 3 Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown and no longer pink. Sprinkle lightly with paprika. Serve warm.

Expert Tips

Lining the cookie sheets with cooking parchment paper makes for easy cleanup. Or you can bake the sausage bails in ungreased 15x10x1-inch pans.
