No need to pay coffeehouse prices when it’s this easy to make the classic Indian sweet and spicy tea.

Ingredients

2
cups water
4
bags black tea
2
cups milk
2
tablespoons honey
1/2
teaspoon ground ginger
1/2
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4
teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

  • 1 Heat water to boiling. Add tea bags; reduce heat. Simmer 2 minutes. Remove tea bags. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling.
  • 2 Stir with wire whisk to foam milk. Pour into cups.

Expert Tips

Prepare the tea up to 24 hours ahead; cover and refrigerate. Reheat just before serving.

Have it your way! Add more honey if you like a little more sweetness.

For refreshing Chai Tea Smoothies, refrigerate mixture until cold. Pour Chai Tea into blender container, and add 1 cup crushed ice. Cover and blend on high speed until smooth.
