"My son loves muffins rolled in cinnamon-sugar. His leave from the Navy brought him home before Thanksgiving but returning before the big meal. He deserved something special! I added his favorite caramel to the muffin recipe. The results? A moist muffin that traveled well enough to make it back to his ship!" Merry Graham
All-purpose flour can be substituted for unbleached flour.
You can make your own pumpkin pie spice blend by mixing 4 tablespoons ground cinnamon, 4 teaspoons ground nutmeg, 4 teaspoons ground ginger and 3 teaspoons ground allspice. Store tightly covered and keep on hand to use in this recipe and others that call for it.
