Irresistibly moist pumpkin cake! Pockets of fudgy topping. Caramel drizzles. Yum.

First of all, to cut down a little on the sugar, I used the sugar-free cake mix. I also used sugar free carmel topping; hot fudge sauce is relativley low in sugar. Other than that, oh well, it's a holiday once a year cake. My family enjoyed this so much, the entire cake was gobbled up in two days!!

Should of read reviews 1st...this recipe is just too rich for our taste...not sure if cutting the hot fudge down to 1 jar would of made a difference...it was a very wet soggy cake...did not like it...won't make again! Sorry Betty Crocker ...:(

Wish I would have read the reviews first. Definetly use only about 12 oz of hot fudge and maybe use sugar free hot fudge. This dessert is super rich. I will make it again, but use sugar free ingredients. Cool whip is a good idea instead of frosting.i dont understand what the sweetened condensed milk is for, i dont think it is needed though

I changed this recipe up a bit. I used a vanilla flavored cake mix, fat-free sweetened condensed milk, low fat cool whip instead of frosting, and I used Hershey's Chocolate syrup instead of hot fudge. It was still rich but my family loved it. We will make it again definitely.

Also found recipe on Calendar & agree with others that this was just way too much of everything. I was not sure if I would like the pumpkin and chocolate combo, even though I love both. All I can say is definitely only use 1 jar of fudge topping! The cake turns out to wet. The first few bites were ok, but then it just became nauseating. This is coming from someone who LOVES sweets!

Found the recipe on the Betty Crocker calendar, and followed the directions carefully. I love cakes, pies, all sorts of sweets, but, this was almost sickeningly sweet; an 8-year old's palate might find it enjoyable, but we did not. Cake mix, with perhaps the entire can of pumpkin and spices, possibly drizzled with the caramel syrup...that might work. Amazed to see this rated so highly.

Very good, rave reviews from coworkers and family. It is rich, yes, but not too rich. I made just as recipe states, except I put the hot fudge in a baggie, snipped the end, and piped into each individual hole. Instead of nuts, I used Halloween sprinkles on top. I'm sure I'll be required to make this again.

This is a very rich but delicious cake. I did change the recipe up a bit, after reading the reviews. I used the whole 15oz can of pumpkin, about 6 ounces of hot fudge sauce and replaced the frosting with a small tub of Cool Whip. It is wonderful.

Wow..Yes, it is very sweet but really good! Husband said to add it to our "save" list of recipes. Very moist - I only used one jar of fudge topping and it was enough. I also used a little more pumpkin than called for. I will definitely bake another one.

Too much! Too sweet! I didn't even add everything the recipe called for. I just used sweetened condensed milk and a caramel topping. Then I had these holes in the top of the cake. I just didn't think that chocolate fudge topping sounded good with pumpkin. Then the frosting and caramel topping was over the top, top!I didn't use either of them.
