Made these bars today and I did read the previous comments and used 1 and 1/2 apples. Next time I'll try 2 apples. Very tasty!!

I followed some of the ideas I read in the reviews, & mine turned out great! I cut the butter (in the crust) to 1 cup, & increased the apples to 3 cups. I have made the recipe this way twice. Both times I got rave reviews, & ended up w/ an empty pan. I'll definitely be making this again!

Really good as is, but when I make them next time, I'm going to try slighty less butter and more apple. Notice how I WILL be making these again :) try them out!!! Delicious!

I was so excited when I saw this recipe, thought it would be a nice fall treat. I was extremely disappointed with the end result. I feel there was WAY too much butter called for in the recipe making the bars very greasy and crumbly. When I removed the bars from the pan there was a layer of butter left on the bottom which resulted in the bottom layer becoming soggy and almost tasting un-cooked. With all the butter flavor in the recipe I think the apple and caramel flavor was completely lost in the end product. If I were to make these again I would decrease the amount of butter and add more apples...but I doubt I will make it again.

These are really good. I took them to a meeting and everyone wanted the recipe. They are a little gooey and I used 3 apples instead of just 1 I also added just a little cinnamon to the batter.

I've been cooking & baking for 50 yrs. now so I know what I'm talking about. First of all, prep time is more like 25-30 min. I used 3 apples (gala) finely chopped, 3 xtra tbls. caramel & 1 c. chopped pecans. Came out very good!!!!

This recipe is not a keeper. It consists mainly of the oat/flour crust and topping with very little apple. I have so many very good apple dessert recipes. This was a disappointment.

This was delicious! I took it to a work party today and it was one of the first dishes gone! Lots of great reviews. I plan to make it again and even add some cinnamon and/or dried cranberries, but it is great as it is too!
