This is not the right picture but I suspect they used it to give a general idea of the candy surprise. I cant remember the exact title but years ago they had a recipe for something like Starlight Surprise cookies. They used Andes candies in the middle. I have looked for years for the original recipe as I made it a number of times and they were one of the best cookies I ever had. It took some doing to get the Andes completely covered by the dough but after baked the scent of the mint was excellent and Andes were not overly strong like York can be. I wish they brought the original back but it looks like they took the idea and have a recipe using the premade sugar cookie dough and cut into squares.I tried it and was not like the original. More than likely they just used this to push the surprise idea as the recipe calls for Snickers type candy. I made the old ones several times and the new ones are not the same which is a shame.I think the original may have been in a bake off contest.

Everyone loves these as they never know what is in the middle. I have made these with mini snickers, mini milkyways and mimi peanut butter cups. These are a favorite for every holiday cookie box to leave our home.
