EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

The varieties of tortellini available in the refrigerated section of the supermarket are growing. Try some of these other flavors, as well, in this recipe.

Add grilled chicken or beef, cut into strips, for a heartier meal.

Surprise everyone by serving apple or cherry crisp for dessert--no one will know you didn't even bake it! Heat canned apple or cherry pie filling, and top with granola and whipped cream.

How do you grind peppercorns? It’s easy using a mortar and pestle, mini-food processor or spice or coffee grinder. Or place them in a resealable plastic bag and pound with a meat mallet or rolling pin.

Tried this recipe last night. Quick, easy and very tasty. The tortellini in the salad makes all the difference. Makes for a light, low fat but satisfying meal. My husband loved it.

Some caesar dressings will have anchovies but vegetarians should know which brands don't - and Bacos don't have any meat in them actually KristiKat! Tasty recipe but not the most exciting.
