Finally, the secret to making a great-tasting Caesar salad at home. This one has olive oil, lemon juice, anchovy paste, romaine and Parmesan cheese--everything you need to capture that classic taste.

Be forewarned before trying this salad: it's not what you typically think of when you think of Caesar salad. With that said.... A friend of my brought it as her dish to our cooking club last night. WOW!!! It was so good, all the ladies just yummed and cooed over it all through dinner. The only reason she left with any was because we were all too full from the other dishes to keep going. It's now my new favorite salad, and I had to rush to the store today to get the ingredients to treat myself again for supper tonight. So what's it like? So fresh!!! There's not much lemon in it, but just enough to really give it that summery spark that is so nice on an evening horizon dancing with lightning bugs. You might think YUCK at the anchovies, but they're not strong...just enough to give the dressing an extra dimension on the palette. And none of the other ingredients really stood out; rather, they just seemed to round out the flavor as an additional layer. If you're willing to try a Caesar with a lighter sauce, definitely give this recipe a shot! Gotta go, I'm headed to the kitchen!

This is just like the recipe out of our 40 year old Betty Crooker cookbook we got as a wedding gift except no egg. It's not as good as the original.

This is indeed the best Caesar recipe out there as I have tried them all. The "key" is NO MAYO. Therefore no heavy creamy base!!! While most Caesar dressings have the same components, this recipe allows all of the flavors to blend yet not get lost. I have made this Caesar for up to 30 people and they all keep coming back for the Caesarman's salad.

This was excellent. I could not find anchovy paste so I added a little extra ground mustard. Also I would recommend an extra clove of garlic. I will definitely re use this every week.

I grew up with this recipe and I absolutely love it!! I don''t recommend putting in the lemon juice though, and extra garlic for the garlic lovers!
