Box Vanilla Cake Mix
1/2
Drop (each) Purple food coloring (dark purple to light purple)

Container White Whipped Cream or Buttercream frosting
1
Drop Pink Food Coloring
  1. Prepare batter according to box directions. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Prepare 4 8" round cake pans. Seperate batter evenly into 4 seperate bowls.
  3. Add purple coloring to each bowl from darkest to lightest.. Bake cakes 20-25 mins.. Let cool completely. Remove cakes.
  4. Using a 2 1/2" round cookie cutter, cut out rounds of cake. Assemble cakes by layering rounds with a thin layer of the pale pink frosting..
  5. Decorate with piped icing or fondant butterflies.
