simple simple simple!!! i used large marshmallows for the body of the butterfly and sampled the triangle pieces that i cut out of the cake for the wings!! I decorated the entire cake with a #17 star tip, this way i did not have to worry about crumbs in the frosting. I would make this cake again for sure!

I will be making this cake for my twin girls 4th Birthday. But since I know that putting icing on a freshly baked cake even after cooled; will not work very well. I will be putting it in the fridge for about 1-2 HRS. It helps out greatly.

I wanted to do this cake for my daughter's 1st birthday and it turned out very well for her butterfly theme! The only problem I had was putting the icing on the cut sides because it took the cake crumbs with it. Other than that it turned out perfectly!

I might try this for my nieces birthday ... but I'll be using different colors of whipped icing & sprinkles instead of the gel and assorted candies ... trying to limit the sugar!

I made this for my daughter's 2nd or 3rd birthday, can't remember, she is 9 now, but it was a really big hit! Everybody kept asking "You made that!?". It was really cute. I'm just shocked that I was clicking through the cake recipes and saw it, I haven't seen this in years!! Haha!

When I made this cake it worked out perfectly. I messed up the first one so we ate it on my daughter's birthday. The second part of the cake I used for her birthday party that Saturday. It was beautiful and her 1st birthday turned out great. Thank you Betty Crocker!
