I was so disgusted by this cake it took everything i had not to just throw it in the trash. there was no way at all i could get the cake to hold together! i never ever do a crumb coat and today i made sure i did...it didn't matter it just kept dragging pieces out and the corners were collapsing. i never thought something that looked so easy would make me want to pull my freaking hair out and cause me 2 trips to the store at midnight!

I made this cake today using chocolate frosting and orange cake icing in a can with orange candy pieces and a chocolate cowtail for the body to make a monarch butterfly. it was fairly easy and looks adorable!

I used the BettyCrocker "New Starlight Cake" and "Vanilla Butter Frosting" recipes from an older book we have at home. I moved the wings together so they touch in the middle and placed a chocolate candy bar on top in the middle for the body (something slim, about the same size as Twix). This is a great and easy cake to be creative, and even adults will be delighted! It's quite easy to cut the wings using the tooth pick trick as shown in the video.

I havent made the cake yet, but wanted to g I had a hard time finding candy sticks. After a two day search, I found out that cracker barrel sells them. Many colors to choose from and super cheap. 10 cents each.
