cups Gold Medal All Purpose Flour

cup brown sugar (dark) for crust
1/2
cup butter (for crust)
2/3
cup butter (for caramel layer)
1/2
cup brown sugar (dark) for layer
1
cup whole pecan halves
1
cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 Combine flour, 1 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 butter for crust. Mix until small particles. Pat firmly into ungreased 9x13" pan. Sprinkle pecans evenly over unbaked crust.
  • 3 In 1 quart saucepan, combine brown sugar and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until entire surface of mixture begins to boil. Boil 1 minute; stirring constantly. Pour evenly over pecans and crust.
  • 4 Bake at 350 for 18-22 minutes ,or entire caramel layer is bubbly and crust is light golden brown. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow chips to meal slightly, then swirl. Leave some whole - do not spread chips.
  • 5 Cool, cut into bars, and enjoy!
