No eye of newt or wing of bat in this creamy dip; just an easy mix of melted cheeses and a touch of garlic.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

To make on the stovetop, mix all ingredients except the tortilla chips in a double boiler. Cook over hot water on medium heat, stirring frequently, until melted and smooth.

To easily remove the skin from a clove of garlic, smash the clove with the flat side of a heavy knife to crack the skin, and then slip it off.

It's really nothing special, but the color is great and it looks cool with the "batwings" to go along with it. I saved the recipe to use next Halloween as well, but I might just buy a premade cheese dip and do the same setup for the "spooky" effect.

5 minutes prep time??? It took me longer to open up the packages of cheeses and chopping garlic finely than 5 minutes. I have a high wattage microwave so I reduced the power but cooked it for the suggested time. The blue corn chips do give the 'bat wing' look which is nifty. I hope it goes well at our gathering this evening...

How cute is this recipe?! Using the blue corn chips as "bat wings" is ingenious! The kids love it :)
