Make a delicious fudgy and frosty ice cream cake. It's easy to make and a fraction of the cost of frozen desserts you buy in stores.

Thought I'd try this, but it did not turn out well for me. The way I normally prepare a similar dessert is to simply make a pan of brownies and top each individual serving with ice cream and hot fudge (and sometimes whipped cream. I usually heat the brownie in the microwave for about 20 seconds just before serving to make the brownie nice and warm & to make the ice crams a little "melty". I got this idea from the brownie sundaes served in a lot of restaurants & started making it at home & everyone loves it. It's just like the restaurant dessert but costs much less per serving. Also, I usually add pecans or walnuts to the brownie mix.

I tried this and at first by just following the recipe above the brownie part of the cake was very hard and the ice cream did melt quicker once the cake had been sliced. I tried a different approach the second time making this. Instead of adding water to the brownie mix I added the equivalent amount of cherry coke (use whatever carbonated beverage you like). This made the brownie chewier and moist. as for the ice cream I used a third pan to freeze the IC in before adding it to the cake top. hope this helps some people out!

This was very easy to make. I added 4th of July sprinkles on the top. I didn't think it was very good, however. I was worried about being able to slice into the cake once it had been in the freezer for a while. When I took it out to sit for a moment, the ice cream softened very quickly. I was able to slice the ice cream easily, but the brownie part was hard to slice. When eating this, the brownie was too frozen and hard, but the ice cream melted quickly. I won't make this again.
