I put some chopped pecans on the top but didn't use the caramel sauce, I am a big sweet eater but I am telling you this is to sweet for me, you can only eat a small small piece at a time but it was still fast and easy don't get me wrong it was good just way to sweet.

Do you think that you could make this and freeze it, then thaw to serve?

I agree that s-chapstick's tip was really helpful!! I didn't have a problem with the pan size but you know that different ovens as well as living environments can effect cooking times I just used the toothpick method and kept an eye on it while I timed how long it took to bake in my oven when the toothpick came out of the center of the brownie still a little wet but not coated with raw batter (4 minutes longer than the recipe) that's when I put the cookie layer on and put it back in the oven (the cookie took 6 minutes longer than the recipe) so don't be discouraged just watch your oven and adjust the baking time and it'll come out perfect it did for me!!

For our fourth of July cook out i made this recipe. It calls for a 9 inch spring form pan . It never cooked. The center was all dough. Are you sure the pan size was right. What a dissappointment. It is a tasty treat and I would like to try it again can you give me a hint as to the right size pan or something to make it cooked all the way. Joan Busick
