Cooked the best turkey so far on Thanksgiving day. The whole family loved it. Now I am going to do it again on Christmas day.

Everyone at my Thanksgiving dinner was asking me how I cooked the turkey. They had never tasted anything so delicious. It was amazing how juicy this turkey was. It came out perfect and was a hit with everyone at the table! Will never cook a turkey any other way!

Ive now been brining for 3 yrs and will cook a turkey no other way.The most juiciest turkey you'll ever have:)I feel Ive perfected the Brine and do mine a little diff. All the ingredients I put in a big pot and bring to a boil turn off and let it go room temp before transferring it to what you are soaking the turkey in.I also add 2 Bay leaves 2 tbs thyme,2 foot long sticks of fresh rosemary and at my choice add 1 cup of red Cherri wine.I find that heating up the carrots and water and salt with the celery and herbs before putting the Turkey in releases the flavors more into the turkey.Watch out when its done its so juicy it will squirt I know ;)

I have used this method for a number of years now and it works great. I have found if you add dried spices to the brine the spices will also be pulled into the turkey with the brine be sure; to use a lot of spice ( I like using cajun spices to give it that extra kick). Be sure to give the turkey plenty of time in the brine I do it for 24 hours and remember to refrigerate the bird while its in the brine. I understand that the way this method works is the brine pulls out the juice that are in the bird first and then starts to pull the brine back in (that's why adding spices works) but if you do not give the bird at least 12 hours this method can dry out your turkey. Have a great holiday mdw

I haven't tried this recipe but hope to this Thanksgiving...sounds yummy! Not to sound dumb, but can someone explain to me the significance of "skewering" back the neck skin and folding up the wings? And is all of that supposed to stay like that during cooking or is it just trying to get things in the best position while brushing the turkey with butter? I'm confused...HELP!
