EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Salt adds flavor to baked goods, and it has yet another role in bread baking. Salt helps control yeast growth, preventing the bread from rising too high. This is especially important in sweet breads, such as this one, that contain plenty of sugar for the yeast to feed on.

You won’t have a turtle anymore, but sliced almonds make a yummy stand-in for the chopped pecans.

Ah, my dear! You have excellent taste in fitnureag some of the most interesting foods and recipes. It was not that many years ago that I discovered Basa catfish in our local Publix seafood department at that time, you bought it by the pound. Now, it has become more popular and is available in Publix labeled bags, with each fillet in its own plastic bag. I routinely buy Basa each shopping day. Hubby loves it particularly with cayenne pepper or red curry that is left over from my chicken red curry. Thanks for the mention my dear you are too sweet.

This one is really yummy! I made it today exactly according to the recipe, but I noticed at least one other baker got inventive and tried some other things with it that look wonderful. I think next time I make it I may have to be a copy cat and try some of her changes :) ! A real winner either way, though.
