Wow! I have made about half a dozen recipes on my bread machine, decided to try this one (it was in a copy of Betty Crocker's Best Bread Machine Cookbook that I got from the library). I am NOT wheat fan, so I made it more for my husband. All I have to say is, I may not be a wheat fan, but I am definitely a herb 'n' crunch wheat fan! This bread tastes soooo good you forget it's wheat! This will become one of my regulars for sure!

This makes an excellent loaf of bread. I only had ground thyme, so I substituted that for dried thyme leaves. Plus I added 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning. WOW!! Was this ever great with a big bowl of spaghetti and also for chicken salad sandwiches.

I was looking for an easy whole wheat bread and so omitted the herbs and sunflower seeds and gave this one a try. It made a lovely whole wheat bread that was as dense as anything store bought and had a nice soft texture and sweet flavor. We now use this bread as our standard sandwich/toast bread instead of buying bread from the grocery store.
